Work and Sarcoidosis: A holistic approach

Patients with sarcoidosis are often confronted with inadequate assessments of their ability to work. Important symptoms—such as fatigue, cognitive problems, and pain—are frequently overlooked, while evaluations rely too heavily on lung function tests.

A global group of experts and people with lived experience (177 representatives) call for change. They advocate for a patient-centred, holistic, and multidisciplinary approach that reflects the full impact of the disease on daily life.

Recognizing the complexity of sarcoidosis leads to fairer assessments and better support for patients.
