Dr. Rob Lamers

Dr. Rob (R.J.S.) Lamers was born in Leiden (1958), the Netherlands.

He started his medical study in 1979 at the Rijks Universitair Centrum in Antwerp, Belgium and continued this study in 1980 at the University Utrecht, the Netherlands.

From 1986 until 1991 he was trained to become a radiologist in the Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. From 1991 until 2002 he worked as a radiologist in the MUMC. Since 2002 he is head of the Department of Radiology of the Atrium Medical Centre in Heerlen, the Netherlands. His focus is on interstitial lung diseases (ild) and mamma abnormalities.

In 1998 he completed his PhD thesis at the University of Maastricht. The title of his dissertation was: ‘Quantitative CT of the lungs. Technical aspects and clinical studies.’

He is co founder of Mitralis Diagnostic Centre (http://www.mitralisdc.nl/).

From day one he is involved with the ild care team and dedicated to the ild care foundation.
